Each year the husband and I sit down to plan out our travels and staycations, it’s how we plan our trips with ample notice and prep for all the fun to be had. We prefer staycations and staying in our warm state especially because of the babies. The Bucket List Family gives me so much inspiration but I’m not sure it’s for my family to travel year round, we need tiny staycations in the mix of everyday life.
This year we are changing things up! Last year we stayed at 7 locations for 7 mini staycations in Florida and this year we have 1 planned- just 1! This is a bit odd for us and to be completely honest I’m struggling with it, but it’s for the best. We’ve decided to live with less this year (which started with me cleaning out closets and bedrooms and donating/selling over 40 items!) and I’m already loving the feel the living with less life is giving me. We are aiming to do more free things our beautiful state offers; visiting more natural pieces of art, lunches in the park, nature walks, backyard star gazing, and such. A year of living with less and trying to do more of the simple and free and less of the hustle and bustle running around life. We are declaring 2018 as the year of simple and free experiences.
We’ve already talked about booking a fall staycation to celebrate our anniversary but we are undecided, if we do or don’t we’re ready to tackle 2018 with simple free living. Let’s see what experiences Florida is granting us this year!
