While Melissa is on maternity leave prepping for the arrival of baby number 2, she invited me to come share a few holiday party tips with you, and I couldn’t be more excited!
I’m Carmen, the founder and creative director for The Flair Exchange, an e-commerce business that supplies party enthusiasts with party goods along with tips and tricks for hosting a sweet soiree. Since we’re in the thick of holiday planning, I thought I’d share 4 of our tried and true holiday cocktails.
December is filled with ample dinner parties, or dinner gatherings. And because of that, we’re going to focus on cocktails that should be served before and after a meal.
Cocktails that get served before a meal are considered an APERTIF; apertifs are intended to stimulate your appetite. Cocktails and cordials that are served after dinner are considered DIGESTIFS; digestifs are cocktails that help aid in the digestion (surprise!) of your meal.
So now that we know why we have cocktails before and after dinner, let’s get down to business!
If you were looking for something to serve before dinner, I’d consider the Honey Bourbon Grapefruit Smash or the Apple Pie Martini. They’re full of flavor and will surely get your guests appetites going!
Then for after dinner, mix up the Gingerbread Martini or the Pumpkin Pie Martini! They’re sweet and decadent, acting as the ideal after dinner drink.
But! I want to know, what is your go-to cocktail before dinner? And do you serve something after dinner too?
