I have a confession. I have a taco addition.
Like most, I not only enjoy taco night, I look forward to taco night. Sometimes we have taco night twice a week. The taco addiction is real. The taco emoji is in my most used section, as it should be.
I host parties often and a taco party is something I haven’t had the pleasure of putting together… until now. Yay for taco night and for taco parties!
Grab my simple taco party details below and an easy chicken tacos recipe you’ll want to bookmark.
I mean, are those not the prettiest chicken tacos you’ve ever seen? They are delicious, pretty and absolutely perfect. Before we dive into creating them I wanted to share my taco party spread and details to help you create a taco party with ease.
First up- taco toppings.
Shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream, beans and shredded cheese are our go to taco toppings. The best part about taco night is you get to make it all yours! Toss in your favorite toppings or display a taco topping bar for guests to pick and choose from.
Walmart carries some of the brightest floral arrangements which is ideal for taco party decorating. I took one bouquet and created two small arrangements to display at different sections of my taco table spread.
One simply can’t host a party without sweets on hand. These vanilla and chocolate cupcakes (which are crazy good) paired perfectly with cactus food sticks. Cactus is a hot theme this summer. These little guys will pop up in all my table displays this season.
Keep it simple, refreshing and cheerful for taco night. I paired pink lemonade with sliced limes for a bright and crisp sip. I suggest cutting the limes and allowing them to set in a pitcher with the lemonade for several hours to strengthen the lime taste. Place a pink drink in front of me and I’ll gladly take it.
Overall Table Spread Tips
When hosting a taco party the more the better. Fill the table to the brim with seasoned meat, toppings, chips, taco shells, salsa, festive decor (isn’t that tiny pinata the cutest?!), bright flowers and a colorful table cloth.
Don’t be afraid to set ingredients around the spread as well. I used peppers and limes in my table decor and they compliment the pretty pink lemonade lime drink perfectly.
To bring some height to the table use cake stands to display signature drinks and sweets on.
Paper lanterns and DIY banners are two of my go to party decor items. These items can be found easily (or created at home) and only take minutes to assemble. A small decor that makes for a large impact.
Now let’s dive into these easy chicken tacos, I know you’ve been anxiously waiting for me to share the details. This recipe makes 6 tacos.
3 Tyson® Individually Frozen Thin Sliced Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 Taco Seasoning packet
1 cup of water
- Place frozen chicken (yes I said frozen, these chicken breasts are individually frozen so you can choose to only cook what you need at a time) in a frying pan.
- Add cup of water
- Add taco seasoning (I used one packet of taco seasoning, but feel free to use your favorite taco seasoning option)
- Allow chicken to cook on medium to high.
- When the seasoning has became a sauce, turn the heat to low and allow the chicken to cook an additional 10 minutes to seal in all those flavors.
- Cut one lime in half and squeeze the lime juice over the chicken.
- Remove the chicken from heat and allow it to cool some.
- Cut chicken into thin strips perfect for tacos.
- Add lettuce, cheese, beans and topping of choice to taco, then add a few slices of the flavored filled chicken. Top with sour cream and salsa.
- Serve and enjoy!
