Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. We spent a few days celebrating the husband’s birthday by taking some days off. Aren’t long weekends the best kind of weekends? We split our time between home celebrating with our tiny family and at the theme parks. Living in the Sunshine State totally has its perks. Speaking of being outside and enjoying family time…
Having a simple backyard BBQ with the family is something we enjoy in the spring and summer seasons. Now that our little guy can partake in our backyard picnic gatherings, we have them more frequently. If you enjoy hosting a simple at-home BBQ for the family or for friends, we should be best friends. Wink!
Grab my tips for a simple, family-style backyard BBQ below.
We enjoy being outside and our little guy could stay outside 24/7, I swear it. Instead of just playing outside, we like to bring our lunch and dinner outside during the spring and summer months. What better way to enjoy the warmer months than with the family outside with yummy food? While we truly enjoy all BBQ foods, we tend to keep things simple for intimate family meals. For those toss-together, last-minute backyard BBQ meals, I recommend the following items:
Drop Canvas. You can purchase a drop canvas at most hardware stores, as painters use them. The canvas is huge and gives us plenty of room for the family to sit on and to spread the meal across too! Toss off your shoes and get comfy at meal time.
Plastic Serving Trays. Make your life easier and invest in nice oversized serving trays. You can find a variety of colors and shapes perfect for bringing the food items to the grill and to serve with. I added plates, straws, cutlery, napkins and condiments to a large tray to carry outside; easy peasy!
Hebrew National® All-Beef Franks. We all want to select the best quality choice of an item, right? Purchasing Hebrew National® All-Beef Franks is a smart choice and it’s totally worth paying a little more to serve your family and friends better quality franks.
Condiments. While it’s a given to have your basic condiments, selecting the best-quality items always wins. We keep Hunt’s ketchup and Gulden’s mustard on hand for our franks and other BBQ items.
Snack Cups. We enjoy a variety of snacks, and the kids enjoy them even more than us adults do. I keep a stack of snack cups on hand to add our son’s favorite items to and keep them close by at all of our BBQ celebrations.
Sparkling Sip. Warm days and sparkling fruity sips simply go hand-in-hand. This past weekend, we added frozen fruit to our sparkling water and it was delicious! Always have a fancy yet simple sparkling sip for the adults and kids to enjoy.
What are a few of your tips for BBQ celebrations and family gatherings? Do you have picnics in the backyard regularly like we do? I’d love to hear your BBQ essentials! The spring and summer months require ample BBQ meetings.
What makes a Hebrew National kosher hot dog premium? It’s all about what makes the cut (and what doesn’t). We’re choosy about what goes into our franks- we use only premium cuts of 100% kosher beef from the front half of the cow, and then choose the best from that. No artificial flavors, colors, filter or by-products. When your hot dog is Kosher, that’s a hot dog you can trust! For more summer fun with Hebrew National, visit facebook.com/hebrewnational.
