This post is in partnership with Socialstars sponsored by Sweet’N Low® to share a spooky sip perfect for Halloween entertaining! #DontHesitaste
Can you believe Halloween is just a little over 2 weeks away? This year our little guy is dressing up as a lion. I can’t wait to get him all dressed up for our family party, fingers crossed he doesn’t get too upset about it. wink.
To get you in the Halloween spirit and prepped for those upcoming gatherings I created a slightly spooky hot cider recipe. Grab all the details below!
I really enjoy seasonal sips. The fall weather, the seasonal decor… it just feels right to have a cup of cider in hand from time to time. Aside from enjoying cider on a brisk evening, Halloween is a great time to start the cider sipping! Once the kids have returned from their trick-or-treat festivities relax with a cup of spooky cider or be sure to serve this at your Halloween soiree!
Sweet’N Low is now one of my go to’s to use in my favorite sips. A zero calorie sweetener is a great idea when you’re creating a drink. I have friends and family members that are diabetic and Sweet’N Low is a go-to for them as well. A sweet sip with less calories? Count me in!
Halloween Party Hot Cider Recipe
This recipe is for a sugar free cider. This cider is not spike or spiced.
64 oz of apple cider (I chose a sugar free option or you can make your own)
1 large orange
3 cinnamon sticks
Sweet’N Low– 1 packet per glass
1 tsp nutmeg
Optional- Red icing to add creepy pizzaz to the glassware
Combine apple cider, sliced orange, cinnamon sticks and bring to a low boil.
Allow cider to steam for 40 minutes.
Remove orange and cinnamon sticks.
Pour hot cider into glasses and add a dash of nutmeg and 1 packet of Sweet’n Low to each glass
Optional spooky bloody glassware how-to: Place a thin line of red icing around the rim of your glass. Using your finger blend the icing on the glassware. Allow the icing to set on the glass for 15-30 minutes before pouring cider in. The thin layer of icing with make a fogged effect.
