Happy Friday, friends!
I am so pumped to kick off fall with entertaining tips, recipes and table displays. My car said it was 100 degrees yesterday after returning from the park, so this Floridan is ready for slightly cooler weather.
Today I’m chatting about a unique way to dress up a table display for fall and sharing a yummy sweet recipe. It’s the season for delicious recipes and entertaining your favorite people!
Before I dive into this yummy recipe (details below) be sure to enter the MARS Bake In The Fun Sweepstakes below. A treat for your kitchen perfect for all the seasonal baking you’re sure to be doing.
Now let’s chat about how to host a colorful fall party for your favorites.
Fall entertaining is relaxing in my opinion. It’s a season of comfort, giving and extra time with family.
Traditional Fall harvest colors and items include browns and orange. For this slightly fancy colorful display I strayed from browns and added in pops of teal. I heart teal like something fierce. I’ve been asked a handful of times how to add in accent colors. Adding in teal was easy peasy. When selecting your pop of color consider something that compliments with your base colors. Teal and orange go together like peanut butter and jelly.
I purchased this cake stand, bowl, plate, silverware and napkins with teal in mind; items ideal for adding extra color. Plus, you won’t likely find fall/fall harvest themed decor in teal (if you do, send me an email asap).
DIY is where it’s at when it comes to creating a table display with eye candy.
A few items that would be fun to create are tiny succulent pumpkins, a large floral pumpkin arrangement, and a wreath that doubles as decor. DIY Fall decor can be used each year, so choosing DIY is always smart.
Seasonal sips are a favorite for many. Consider picking up some Snapple® Apple and dressing them up with fancy straws or custom DIY drink flags. Teal striped straws + Snapple® Apple look great together!
I purchased these tiny apples for decor and they are absolutely perfect. I also added mini pumpkins to tall candle vases. Ever wonder what you would do with tiny pumpkins and tiny apples? Now you know!
If you chose to create a colorful Fall table display what colors would you pick? Are you a teal fanatic like me?
Now let’s make M&M’s® Pecan Pie cake bites!
I’ve wanted to try my hand at making a cake with applesauce for awhile now! Fall entertaining and recipes that involve anything apple and I’m in. This recipe is easy and one to put in the books for Fall.
While shopping at your local Walmart grab the ingredients for the cake bites-M&M’s® Pecan Pie, Mott’s® applesauce, Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme® cake and Pillsbury™ Creamy Supreme® frosting. Don’t forget the Snapple® Apple party sip too. Be sure to print a $1.00 off coupon for M&M’s® here.
Cake with applesauce, why haven’t I done this earlier? So easy and yummy!
Combine 1 box of Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme® cake with 1 cup of Mott’s® applesauce.
Stir until combined. Bake time/temperature as directed on the box.
Allow cake to cool. Crumble cake into small pieces as shown above.
Spoon in one container of Pillsbury™ Creamy Supreme® frosting.
Roll into 1-2″ balls or press into mini squares as shown below.
Refrigerate for a minimum of 1-3 hours.
Chop 1 cup of the M&M’s® and sprinkle over the cake bites. Sprinkling is my favorite part.
Admire the finished product and serve to guests.
Cute little guys, huh? These sweet treats are great for all type of fall gatherings and will be a hit. Adding pecans to each cake bite is optional, but I find that it adds the perfect extra touch.
Fancy yet simple at the same time. wink.
