Late last week we started celebrating Father’s Day early with a fun and delicious Star Wars inspired display. We’re keeping up with this very special first Father’s Day early celebrating. Can you believe dad’s day is this weekend!?! Whoa. Wasn’t it just Mother’s Day? I had the best first Mother’s Day ever, I cried and you can find a photos from our wonderful Mom Day spent outdoors on my Instagram. I know I’m not the only one pumped to be celebrating Father’s Day. Today I’m sharing 4 ways to celebrate Dad’s first Father’s Day! These are simple gestures that all Dad’s will love and appreciate. But, first…
Let me tell you why the guy in my life is so special and deserves the best day ever.
I met my guy in high school. Yep, we’re high school sweethearts and have been together for-ev-er, which makes me the luckiest girl in all the land. We’ve lived in a handful of places, tried living up north (not for us Floridians), went to college, got married, went back to college and then decided to start a family. After lots of prayers we were blessed to get pregnant at the perfect time (God truly knows best) and welcomed the most handsome baby boy ever in February of this year. Through all of our life experiences my husband has always been my anchor. He supports every wild dream I have and shows patience like no other. To be married to this guy is a blessing. We’re the perfect balance. I now get to watch him raise our son into a gentleman, how amazing is that!? So, yeah, this man deserves the best day ever.
1. Coffee in bed. We’re coffee drinkers and begin each and every morning with a cup of coffee, sometimes two. Thank goodness for a Keurig machine, I’m not sure we could start a day without it.
2. Give dad and baby/kids some alone time. On the weekends the husband enjoys beginning his day in bed with Lincoln while he’s still in his adorable jammies. Baby jammies are the cutest! Say your good mornings and let them hang solo.
3. Surprise the anchor in your life with a special gift set. Also, receiving gifts in bed makes the gift even more awesome.
Getting the men in your life cologne is never a bad idea. Next time you’re at the mall (because us ladies always find reasons to make mall trips, wink) stop by Macy’s to pick up the Nautica Voyage gift set. It’s so handsome smelling. Handsome smelling is my kind of term, but to be a little more specific the fragrance is a cool aquatic wood amber mix that’s undeniably masculine. The fun Father’s Day signs will remind you that you’re in the right section for gift buying. This gift set includes 3.4 oz of cologne, an additional 1oz, shower gel and aftershave balm. Gift sets make gift buying so easy!
4. Spend some time outdoors doing exactly what Dad wants! Lincoln loves it outside so you’ll spot us at the park, having a picnic or just hanging in the back yard. The husband realllly wanted to see Lincoln in water for the first time, so we did just that! A beach trip is in the very near future, but we couldn’t wait to see our guy in a tiny pool. Be prepared for cuteness overload from the coolest little dude.
To my husband and Lincoln’s dad:
Happy Father’s Day! We love you more then words can express. Your patience is inspiring, your smile and joy is contagious and your love for our boy made my heart grow 2 sizes larger.
