A favorite with my family, this sugar coated pecans recipe makes an appearance each Birthday and special occasion. My husband is celebrating a Birthday this month so it was time to buy some pecans and coat them to his liking. This is such an easy recipe and I don’t think it has any calories. A win win. Pecan sweets are no stranger to this blog.
One thing I did learn, it’s difficult to capture of a picture of these yummy sweet treats. I’m sure most of you have seen these at theme parks and theaters but it’s a hard sweet to photograph well. Pecans with a coat of sugar and cinnamon, if you haven’t had them before you’re missing out.
Sugar Coated Pecans Recipe
Ingredients: 1 egg white, 1 tablespoon of water, 1 pound of pecans, 1 cup of sugar, dash of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (I substituted cinnamon sugar for the regular cinnamon)
Directions: Preheat oven to 250. Combine egg white and cup of water in a bowl. In a separate bowl combine sugar, salt and cinnamon. Coat pecans in water/egg mixture then coat them in the sugar mixture. Bake coated pecans on a baking sheet for 1 hour stirring every 15 to 30 minutes.
