Typically I find myself sipping on wine during Holidays and gathers (and on a random week night). This year I wanted to try something different. This is how the candy cane vodka recipe came about. A simple recipe to add a little kick to your Holiday celebrations. I was surprised by how quickly the vodka turned a shade of pink, LOVE. Dressing up the container with a plaid ribbon might have been my favorite part. My husband and I had this on the rocks, strong but good! I’d imagine it would be tasty mixed with soda.
Regular vodka would have sufficed but I love me some vanilla flavored vodka. A box of small candy canes or 30 regular sized canes are required as well. Make sure to set a few candy canes aside for garnish and decor. Using a food processor blend the candy. Isn’t it pretty all chopped up?
Now it’s time to strain. Scoop the candy cane into the strainer and pour the vodka over the candy allowing it to slowly run through. The candy cane mixture will get crazy sticky at this point and eventually become 1 solid chunk, no worries just keep pouring vodka through. Once you’ve finished with the straining pour the vodka back into the bottle or in a fancy container to serve.
Garnish. Sip. Enjoy. ‘Tis the season.
Looks so pretty and must be tasty! Can’t wait to try this for some holiday gatherings! 🙂
Now, that’s a festive-looking drink!
Yum! Looks super festive.
I love flavored vodkas…this sounds like it would be great with my Ghirardelli chocolate vodka, too!
This looks sooooooo fun! I bet it tastes fun too!!!
